New Patients

Our new patient appointment will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes during which we will listen to your concerns in a relaxing environment and carry out a comprehensive dental examination. It will include:

• Checking your medical and social history, finding out if you smoke, for example, or how much your alcohol intake is per week as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption are the two main causes of mouth cancer.
• Checking the muscles and glands in your face and neck area.
• Checking your jaw joints for clicking and crunches.
• Checking the soft tissue inside you mouth, gum and tongue for any cancer.
• Checking your teeth for decays and record any treatment you may have received in the past.
• Taking digital radiographs, to detect any caries or infection.

We will then explain our findings, your treatment options, discuss associated benefits or risks, and fees so you can make an informed decision about your choice.
